All tapes and external HDD's stored in on-site fireproof safe, latest monthly data and Hyper-V tapes taken offsite.Workstation: Scientific data = 4TB weekly via ROBOCOPY to external HDD and archived to tapes regularly.Hyper-V VM images: Backed up monthly to tape, approx 200GB.Servers: Mission critical data = 300GB after deduplication daily to tapes. We have 4 x 2012R2 VM's on 2 x Hyper-V physical hosts. So I am looking at options to replace the tape and backup software, whilst still providing similar functionality and off-site encrypted portal backups. This has worked fine since 2013 but recently Barracuda announced they will soon stop supporting Yosemite, and shortly afterwards (I think they jinxed things!) the tape catalogue got corrupted when trying to restore from an archived tape. We also do monthly backups and keep 12 month tapes. Hoping for some expert advice and pros/cons of backup solutions please? Bearing in mind we're a small company with limited budget.Ĭurrently use Yosemite Server Backup and an LTO-5 autoloader for our 4 daily incremental backups + 4 weekly full.
